A man who accidentally shot himself at a Texas Walmart was charged with killing a homeless man after his gun was linked to the unsolved slaying, authorities said.

Laquavana Ladarien Goode, 28, was booked into Dallas County Jail on a murder charge on March 2. He remains in custody Thursday on a $150,000 bond, online records show.

Goode, of Shreveport, Louisiana, is accused of fatally shooting Lonnie Lewis, 62, while driving past a homeless camp in Dallas on July 25, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by the Dallas Morning News.

Goode allegedly squeezed off five shots into the homeless encampment as people slept. Witnesses tried to stir Lewis hours later, but discovered he had been shot and died in his sleeping bag. Detectives, however, recovered several shell casings from the scene, the affidavit states.

Months later, Goode told cops on Jan. 25 he shot himself in the knee while parked at a Walmart in Lewisville. He called 911 for help and investigators took the weapon to run tests on it, police said.

Cops later learned the weapon came back as a match to the shell casings recovered at the homeless camp, the affidavit states.

Goode admitted to detectives he was the sole owner of the gun since 2019 and never let anyone borrow it. He also was driving a car that matched a description of the vehicle spotted at the homeless camp in July, according to the affidavit.

A firearms expert, meanwhile, told Dallas police that the same gun Goode wounded himself with also fired the round that killed Lewis, the affidavit states.

A woman who identified herself as Goode’s mother declined to comment when reached by The Post Thursday. It’s unclear if he’s hired an attorney who could comment on his behalf.

Goode’s Facebook page indicates he’s from Louisiana but shows he was in Houston a week before Lewis was killed.
