Scottie Barnes has heard enough of Jake Fischer’s rumors.

The Toronto Raptors forward sounded off against Bleacher Report’s Fischer while live-streaming himself playing NBA 2K22 on Tuesday, blasting Fischer for allegedly spreading false rumors about his teammates.

“Why is Jake L. Fischer following me?” Barnes asked while presenting his Instagram page to the live stream. “Nah, there’s no way the man thinks it’s cool to follow me after he’s putting out bad reports.

“It’s sick. Talking about my boy wanting a trade? It’s sick, bro. Sickening. You gotta do better, fam.”

The “bad reports” in question were a series of statements by Fischer in which the reporter suggested that Raptors forward OG Anunoby was unhappy with his role in Toronto. Fischer later appeared on Nate Duncan’s Dunc’d On podcast, where he inflated the rumors even more, saying, “there’s a lot of guys who are dissatisfied with their roles in Toronto.”

Barnes was quick to clap back at Fischer’s initial comments, taking to Instagram the same day to write “close source said it’s bad news,” accompanied by a pair of laughing emojis.

Barnes quickly developed into one of the league’s top young talents after being taken fourth overall by the Raptors in last year’s NBA draft. The 20-year-old averaged 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game during his freshman season, in which he was named 2021-22 NBA Rookie of the Year.

Whether the rumors are true remains to be seen, but one thing is for certain — Barnes has his teammates’ backs, both on and off the court.
